The Seattle Foundation is aiming to make Wednesday the biggest day of the year for charitable giving in King County as it kicks off its third-annual Give Big campaign.
“Give Big is a day when we ask people to go online to the Seattle Foundation’s website, find their favorite non-profit, make a contribution, and then we grow that gift larger,” says Mary Grace Roske, with the Seattle Foundation.
Roske says they use what they call a “stretch pool” to add to each donation that’s given on Give Big day. Last year, a pool of $800,000 was added to more than $7 million in online donations.
“For every $100 that was donated, an additional $10 came from the stretch pool to grow that gift larger and have a bigger impact on the non-profit and the cause that you’re supporting,” says Roske.
A list of more than 1,400 organizations are awaiting your potential donation at seattlefoundation.org.
