The City of Seattle is suing Glock and several gun stores in Western Washington after the city claims Glock pistols are too easy to convert into illegal machine guns.

The city claimed that Glocks are being turned into machine guns with cheap parts or 3D printing. City Attorney Ann Davison stated that modified Glocks are showing up more often in shootings — even in the hands of juveniles.

“We can’t do it alone; we need Glock to help with this problem to see a reduction in gun violence and the use of their weapons in this format,” Davison said, according to KIRO 7.

The lawsuit called the sale of Glock pistols a public nuisance. Bull’s Eye Indoor Range in Tacoma, Rainier Arms LLC in Auburn, and Pantel Tactical in Renton were named in the suit.

The store owner of  Pantel Tactical plans to fight the lawsuit, claiming he’s never shown anyone how to modify a gun. Bull’s Eye and Rainier Arms are not commenting on the pending litigation, according to KIRO 7.

“They are lawful gun owners, right? They should not want to see a weapon used in this way, causing so much damage,” Davison said. “Of course, we want to hold people criminally accountable when they do those things, but this is additional.”

Glock has yet to respond to the lawsuit, as of this reporting.
