Seattle Kraken mascot Buoy had a close call with a brown bear during a fly-fishing trip in Alaska’s Katmai National Park.

The bear charged toward Buoy and others on the June 25 outing, part of an annual community partnership with the Bristol Bay Native Corporation. Kraken forward John Hayden was also on the trip.

Video released by the team to KIRO 7 shows Buoy and the group quickly retreating as the bear made its surprise appearance.

No one was hurt, and the bear left without incident.
