Dave Ross, host of KIRO’s Seattle Morning News, is one of the iconic radio talents recently nominated for the Radio Hall of Fame.

The Museum of Broadcast Communications released a list of 24 nominees out of approximately 2,500 suggestions this year.

Ross joined KIRO as a news anchor in 1978 and was given his own talk show in 1987. He received the Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Commentary in 2001, and again in 2005.

Alongside his decades of service on the radio, he also ran to represent Washington’s 8th congressional district for the U.S. House of Representatives under the Democratic party. He was narrowly defeated by former King County Sheriff in late July and honored in November in Chicago.

The voting process has been tweaked as ballots will be sent to 600 industry members later this month. Each voter can name up to six individuals.
