Seattle police close robbery case with 13-year-old suspect

Two teens weren’t on the lam too long after allegedly holding two victims at gunpoint. Turns out, it’s not such a good idea to rob your classmates who can easily identify you later.
Seattle police detectives have closed a recent armed robbery case after arresting two teens on July 2 — a 16 and a 13 year old — the Seattle Police Department reports.
The robbery occurred on June 25 when a green Ford Crown Victoria made a stop in the 6600 block of Rainier Avenue South. Two teen victims watched two other teens rush out of the car, point a gun in their faces and demand their possessions. They took a cell phone and some cash.
The two teen robbers covered their faces with bandannas, but they weren’t difficult to find. The victims knew the alleged robbers from school.
Police took one suspect into custody when he came to them. The 16-year-old showed up at the Juvenile Court House for another, unrelated hearing on July 2 and found cops waiting for him.
Police then happened upon the 13-year-old suspect on July 2 walking at 37 Avenue South and South Juneau Street. The teen was walking on the sidewalk but quickly ran once seeing police. Officers chased him down and arrested him.
Both teens have been booked into the King County Youth Service Center while detectives further investigate the robbery.
