Some Seattle police bike cops are offering ride-alongs during their shift Monday, and you don’t have to do any pedaling.

Two Capitol Hill officers will be tracking their day on twitter, posting details and pictures about all their activities.

“What we’re hoping to do is to give a little window as to a real shift on the Seattle Police Department,” says Sergeant Sean Whitcomb, with SPD.

Whitcomb says the department is always looking at ways to make their work more transparent.

He says the officers will try to give an accurate picture of their day, but remember, on twitter, they’re limited to 140 characters.

“Don’t expect a lot of narrative detail, but do expect some interesting thoughts, and hopefully a realistic snapshot of what their shift is like.”

You can follow along at the SPD twitter account.
