Seattle police: Ride-share driver tried to extort sex, dragged woman behind car

Jun 4, 2015, 1:22 PM | Updated: 1:33 pm

A for-hire driver allegedly tried to extort sex from a woman and later dragged her behind his vehicle.

The woman told Seattle police that the driver dropped her off at home at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Saturday. When she realized she left her phone in the car, she called it and the driver answered, according to police.

The driver initially refused to return the woman’s phone, but then said he would do so if she had sex with him. The woman convinced the driver to return and met him on the street, according to police.

When the woman reached into the car to grab her phone, the driver sped away, and she was dragged down the street. She was cut on her legs, feet, arms, and hands.

The man’s car may have been recorded by a dash cam.

Detectives are working with a ride-share company to identify the driver.
