Perhaps inspired by Harrison Ford in The Fugitive, a robbery suspect’s change in attire did not ultimately fool Seattle police.

Officers say a woman tried to steal batteries, pet treats, and sandals from a SoDo grocery store on 4th Avenue South, according to the SPD Blotter. When employees approached her, she reportedly punched one of them in the throat before walking out.

That’s when the daring costume change occurred. It didn’t involve putting on a wig or even sunglasses — the suspect simply changed her shirt, which didn’t turn out to be the cloak of invisibility she thought it was. Seattle police officers were able to see past the elaborate ruse and arrest her based on matching the description from witnesses.

The stolen items were returned to the store and the woman was booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.
