Seattle sandwiched between Texas cities on list of best places for jobs

With a booming tech industry, it’s no surprise Seattle is near the top of the list when it comes to the best city for jobs. But the Emerald City has some competition in the Lone Star State.

Forbes magazine measured six aspects jobs in each given city to come up with their results:

In Seattle, the 2011 unemployment rate and the current unemployment rate, 6.5 percent; the estimated employment growth in 2013, and the five-year estimated employment growth, 1.9 percent; current per-capita income, $50,497; and the estimated income growth over the next five years, 2.6 percent.

Topping the list was Dallas, followed by Houston, Austin and Fort Worth. Just behind Seattle in the rankings is San Antonio.

While our unemployment rate might be a little high says Forbes, so are our wages in the tech industry.
