As all eyes are glued to the action on the screen during the Super Bowl, history will be made behind the scenes in the broadcast booth.

Brynna Rogers, a broadcast engineer for “Bump and Stacy” on Seattle Sports 710 AM, will be the first woman to engineer a play-by-play radio broadcast for the Super Bowl as the Seahawks take the field on Sunday.

“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” Rogers said. “I have to stop every once in a while and kind of, like, look around and take it in and remind myself that this is really cool and that not many people get to do this.”

Rogers’ work behind the broadcast

Throughout some of the most defining moments in the Seahawks’ season, Rogers has been refining her craft by mixing audio levels and managing microphones to ensure each and every broadcast is fully polished from start to finish.

Rogers recapped a moment where she could be seen in the broadcast booth during Rashid Shaheed’s electric punt-return touchdown against the Los Angeles Rams.

“You can see my feet in the background, like shuffling around,” Rogers said. “I was like, oh, there’s my feet, like moving around in excitement.”

Rogers’ daily contributions are massive, oftentimes making quick decisions while under pressure.

“I mix their mics, I EQ them, I add dynamics, I put some compression and limiting on them,” she said.

While Super Bowl festivities can be quite chaotic for some, Rogers noted she looks forward to using this experience as a springboard for many other women behind her, who share similar aspirations of being in her shoes.

“It’s a really hard field to get into for women, and when you add the STEM aspect, it’s even harder,” Rogers said. “It feels like I got my foot in the door — and now I want to hold that door open for everyone behind me.”

Rogers started her journey with the Seahawks in 2017

Rogers began her journey with the Seattle Seahawks during the 2017 season, serving as the broadcast engineer for the Seahawks pregame show on KIRO Newsradio and Seattle Sports for eight seasons.

The 2025 season marked her first year as the play-by-play broadcast engineer, traveling with the team and contributing to all 20 Seahawks games this season, including postseason play.

“Brynna’s achievement is extraordinary, not just for our organization, but for the entire industry,” Cathy Cangiano, Senior Vice President and Market Manager for Bonneville Seattle, said. “Her talent, poise, and commitment to excellence have elevated every Seahawks broadcast this season. We are incredibly proud of her, and we hope her historic moment inspires young women everywhere to see themselves in roles like this.”

This Super Bowl appearance marks the fourth in Seattle Seahawks history and the team’s first since 2015.
