Students in Seattle won’t be allowed to attend school if their immunization status isn’t updated in their records by Wednesday Jan. 8.

Check the immunization schedule for children

The district says it is notifying families of students whose records are not up to date or are missing via email, mail, or in a letter sent home with the child.

Washington state law requires that students are fully vaccinated, in the process of finishing immunization, or have a signed Certificate of Exemption before they can attend school. However, exemption is not allowed for MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) as of July 28, 2019 per state law.

Students who need immunizations are offered free clinics:

Friday, December 27, 2019, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Aki Kurose Middle School, 3928 S Graham St, Seattle, WA 98118

Monday, December 30, 2019, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Aki Kurose Middle School, 3928 S Graham St, Seattle, WA 98118

January 3, 2020, Time: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Seattle World School – 1700 E Union St, Seattle, WA 98122

A parent or guardian must be present. Check here for more details.

If a student does not have updated records by Jan. 8, missed days will be recorded as unexcused absences. Once the records are updated and the student returns to class, the absence will be changed to excused.
