Seattle gets warmest day in over five months, with chance to repeat over weekend

On Tuesday, the Seattle-area experienced its first day with temperatures over 60 degrees since November of 2021, with the potential for more on the horizon.
This week’s warmer weather arrived after Seattle saw 22 out of the previous 30 days sit below normal temperatures, the National Weather Service notes, before peaking at 63 degrees on Tuesday. That also happened to be the city’s warmest day since it reached 69 degrees on Oct. 21 of last year, and was the first 60-degree day since Nov. 15.

Weather conditions returned to more typical spring fare across the region on Wednesday, with highs dipping back into the mid-50s along with intermittent rain showers. But, there’s still good news for anyone who missed Tuesday’s brief burst of sunshine, with a chance for Seattle to “make another run at 60 again on Friday and perhaps Saturday,” the NWS predicts.
Highs for both those days are currently set at 59 degrees, with a 31% chance of cresting 60 degrees in the Seattle metropolitan area on Friday. The odds will be better on Saturday, rising to 39%. Olympia also has a 47% chance of getting to 60 degrees on Friday, before ticking down slightly to 41% on Saturday.
That will then likely be followed by more rain between Saturday and Sunday nights, with a warm front potentially moving in to start the next week.
