Seattle woman pistol whipped for trying to stop teen fight

A woman was rewarded for her good-Samaritan effort by being pistol whipped in Seattle’s Columbia City park Wednesday.
The 34-year-old woman witnessed two teen boys fighting at the park’s basketball court around 8 p.m., according to the Seattle Police Department.
One boy, a 16-year-old, pulled out a hand gun. The woman ran between the teens and tried to prevent the boy from shooting. She was then pistol whipped in the face.
The armed teen then fired a shot at the ground near the other teen’s feet before running to a waiting car and fleeing.
Seattle police officers responded and were able to identify the teen gunman. They tracked him down to a Mount Baker home. The teen held out inside the home for three hours while negotiators attempted to talk him out. He eventually surrendered. He was booked into the King County Youth Services Center for assault, harassment and unlawful possession of a firearm.
