Darren Dedo, KIRO Newsradio reporter, covers overnight crime in the Puget Sound region on the morning of Wednesday, October 12.

The Anacortes Police Department, Anacortes School District, and Washington State Patrol announced Wednesday morning that classes would be delayed at Anacortes High School after a bomb threat was left on the school’s voicemail.

Officials delayed school by two hours as law enforcement worked to make sure the campus is safe.

This is the second bomb threat at the high school after a threat was made on Monday night, causing police to have a search before classes Tuesday, which were kept on schedule.

Officials have reviewed security camera footage and have found no suspicious activity.

District officials say they will keep staff, students, and families updated throughout the day.

Renton Police engaged in a shootout with a suspect after being called to reports of a car prowler who was breaking into a vehicle Wednesday morning.

At 4:28 a.m. officers were called to the Bella Vista Apartments at the 2000 block of Lake Washington Boulevard, and when they arrived the suspect started shooting at them, according to Renton police. Officers then returned fire.

When the suspect tried to flee the scene, officers deployed a K-9 team to track them, finding them in a nearby bush.

No one was hurt by the gunfire.

Valley Investigation Team is leading the investigation into the shooting, and the suspect is in custody.

Seattle police on the lookout for Westwood Village robbers

Seattle detectives are working to identify three suspects wanted for the armed robbery of a Westwood Village clothing store Tuesday, Oct 4.

The suspects, two men and one woman, entered the store at the 2600 block of SW Barton Street.

They allegedly started grabbing clothing, before trying to leave the store without paying. When an employee confronted the suspects, one of them pulled out a handgun and threatened the employee.

Police are still investigating the theft, and are asking the public for any help identifying them.

Tukwila Police stop repeat shoplifter

Earlier this week, Tukwila Police Officers responded to a commercial burglary in progress in the 12400 block of Tukwila International Blvd.

Officers got on the scene and located a stolen vehicle with two male suspects. Tukwila Police also found many items taken from the property piled near a fence. Both suspects were arrested without incident.

According to Tukwila Police, one of the suspects is a prolific repeat offender. Officers say this particular suspect has been victimizing businesses and individuals in Tukwila dating back at least six years. They say he is associated with theft, burglary, narcotics, and other crimes in Tukwila and multiple other cities and has active warrants out of several cities.

Both of the suspects were booked into jail.
