A collision involving a semitruck that rolled over and blocked all lanes for several hours on Interstate 5 (I-5) south in Tukwila Monday has been cleared, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) reported on X, formerly known as Twitter. The state agency said travelers should still expect delays as traffic clears.

WSDOT initially posted about the traffic incident between 12:30 and 12:45 p.m. Monday and said travelers should expect a lengthy closure that would cause significant delays southbound out of Seattle. The agency provided an update online in the 2 p.m. hour, noting all lanes were still blocked and crews were getting ready to roll the truck over. The backup at that time stood at over six miles.

Trooper Rick Johnson, Washington State Patrol public information officer for District 2, wrote on X Monday that no one was injured in the collision. He added that, at the time, there was oil and diesel fuel on the highway.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
