A few weeks ago, members of the Violent Crimes Reduction Unit (VCRU) saw a man driving a vehicle with no front plate and a stolen rear plate attached to the vehicle. The man was detained, and investigators determined the suspect had multiple misdemeanor warrants, for which he was arrested.

The suspect was booked for his warrants, and the vehicle was impounded for a search warrant. During the search, a stolen firearm was found inside a bag on the driver’s seat. Probable cause was developed to charge the man with first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm. However, the suspect had already been released from jail.

Last week, members of VCRU found the man at a motel in south Everett. While officers were trying to arrest the man, he threatened officers and had assaultive behavior.

Once again, the man was booked on probable cause for first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm resulting from the search warrant and additional charges.

Officers said he is also the suspect in a September shooting in Everett.

Seattle Police catch felon with multiple loaded handguns

Seattle Police said officers arrested a 49-year-old felon and seized two firearms after he attempted to run from officers Thursday morning.

According to SPD, an officer patrolling the 1000 block of South Dearborn Street around 4 a.m. spotted a man he knew had a $10,000 warrant for driving under the influence. The officer told the man to stop, but he ran off.

Investigators said the officer quickly took the man into custody without further incident. The officer searched the man and found two loaded handguns. The man is a convicted felon and prohibited from having firearms.

Police booked the man into King County Jail for firearms charges and his DUI warrant.

K9 involved in tracking down suspects of armed robbery

On Wednesday, Seattle Police Officers rushed to the 1500 block of SW Holden Street as an armed robbery was just reported at a convenience store.

SPD said the suspects went into the store, pulled a gun on the clerk, emptied the register, and filled two shopping bags with consumable goods.

The suspects ran away, and K9 responded to assist with a track. Guardian 1 also responded and provided aerial support during the search.

Officers said the K9 track finished in the presumed area where the getaway vehicle was parked.
