Sheriff says deputies asked to no longer eat at restaurant; restaurant says it’s a misunderstanding

Skagit County Sheriff says that four deputies were finishing lunch at a teriyaki restaurant when the owner requested they not eat at his establishment any longer.
Sheriff Will Reichardt wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday that the situation completely took him by surprise.
“My chief deputy spoke to the owner to confirm this because he simply could not believe what he was hearing. The owner not only repeated the request but asked that we spread the word to other law enforcement that they were no longer welcome either,” Reichardt wrote.
KIRO 7’s Gary Horcher reached out to the owners of restaurant who said it was a misunderstanding.
Meanwhile, thousands of people are leaving comments on Lucky Teriyaki Restaurant’s Facebook page expressing outrage.
A Google review was left by someone who appears to have been at the restaurant at the same time as the deputies.
“I heard the owner request the officers not return to the restaurant because, ‘it’s just not good for business’ or something along those lines,” the review said in part.
