Authorities are looking for the person responsible for firing at least six shots in the downtown Seattle bus tunnel Tuesday night.

Bicycle officers heard the shots about 11:40 p.m. and rushed into the tunnel.

“We heard it. We responded. There were people that were fleeing but everybody that we talked to said, ‘I was running because I heard the shots.’ Nobody is admitting to seeing the actual shots fired,” says Mark Jamieson with the Seattle Police Department.

Officers were able to find evidence at the scene that indicates shots were fired.

“Both our officers and King County deputies located at least six spent shell casings and some bullet fragments inside the mezzanine level,” says Jamieson.

Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from the tunnel and nearby businesses to try and identify the shooter.

No one was hurt in the incident.
