There will be plenty of people in their birthday suites during the Fremont Solstice Parade and some of them may plant their seats on public bicycles.

Pronto, the bike-share system that recently announced its expansion, is allowing anyone who rides the company’s bikes in the Saturday parade up to six hours free.

“Yep! You read that correctly,” an announcement on Pronto’s website says.

Pronto has 50 bike stations throughout the city. There are about 500 bicycles available to rent 24 hours a day.

The parade is scheduled for 3 p.m. It begins at 3rd and Leary Way. The parade ends at Gas Works Park, where a music festival will be held.

All cyclists have to do is return the bike within the allotted time and call customer service.

The only question that remains is who will clean the seats after the ride.

The Seattle Bike Blog suggests riders cover bike seats with a plastic bag, otherwise they’ll be riding around with evidence of the Solstice ride for days to come.

Oh yeah, and don’t forget to wear sunscreen.
