Sonic Drive-In makes major Seattle move on local burger joints with massive expansion

What is it with Oklahoma City? First they took our Sonics, now Oklahoma City-based Sonic Drive-In is making a big move on Dick’s and other Seattle burger joints.
The fast-food restaurant chain announced Tuesday it plans to open 14 new locations in the greater Seattle area.
Sonic already operates five across the state in Tacoma, Puyallup, Bonney Lake, Ferndale and Wenatchee, the Puget Sound Business Journal reports.
The first of the old-style drive-ins – complete with roller skating curbside service – are expected to open in fall of 2014. The remainder should be grilling within the next four years.
The company has over 3,500 restaurants across the country, offering traditional fast-food fare including burgers, fries, onion rings and hotdogs.
The company will partner with Cascade Development group, a local franchisee that operates 15 Taco Bell franchises in the Seattle area.
