Dress for Success Seattle has launched an emergency clothing relief response to support women affected by wildfires in the Spokane area.

The initiative provides curated clothing packages to women who have been displaced, lost belongings, or are rebuilding following the fires.

The response addresses the impact of the Autumn Lane, Old Trails, and Fairview fires, which have led to widespread evacuations and destroyed hundreds of structures across the region.

Women affected by the wildfires can request assistance through this brief online form. Dress for Success Seattle staff and volunteers then assemble and ship curated clothing packages directly to recipients’ homes or temporary residences.

The organization established an initial goal to serve up to 50 women during the response’s first phase, with plans to expand as inventory, funding, and volunteer capacity allow.

Dress CEO Malia Razzaia for Success Seattle highlighted the importance of assistance following displacement.

“Disasters affect every aspect of daily life, including something as basic as getting dressed for work, an interview, a doctor’s appointment, or caring for your family,” Razzaia said. “When women lose their homes or are displaced by a disaster, clothing becomes more than a necessity. It becomes part of restoring dignity, confidence and a sense of normalcy. We are committed to supporting women as they take that next step forward.”

The initiative relies on donated clothing, volunteer engagement, and community fundraising.

Volunteers are needed to assist with sorting, styling, packing, and shipping the packages. If you’d like to help, you can learn more here.

Financial contributions help cover shipping, packaging, volunteer support, and operational expenses needed to deliver clothing directly to recipients. If you’d like to donate, you can learn more here.

Dress for Success Seattle operates as part of the global Dress for Success network. The organization provides professional attire, workforce development, career support, and community connections to help women and gender-expansive individuals achieve economic independence.
