Starbucks announced it will remove 13 beverages from its menu on March 4 as part of a broader effort to streamline operations and focus on its most popular offerings. The changes, first reported by TODAY.com, include the removal of hot and cold drinks, as well as several Frappuccino varieties.

“As part of our plan to get back to Starbucks, we’re simplifying our menu to focus on fewer, more popular items, executed with excellence,” Starbucks said in a statement. “This will make way for innovation, help reduce wait times, improve quality and consistency, and align with our core identity as a coffee company.”

The company cited low sales, complex preparation, and menu redundancy as key reasons for the cuts. On Monday, Starbucks announced it was laying off 1,100 corporate employees.

Which menu items are being cut?

The following drinks will be discontinued:

  • Iced Matcha Lemonade
  • Espresso Frappuccino
  • Caffè Vanilla Frappuccino
  • White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino
  • Java Chip Frappuccino
  • Chai Crème Frappuccino
  • Caramel Ribbon Crunch Crème Frappuccino
  • Double Chocolaty Chip Crème Frappuccino
  • Chocolate Cookie Crumble Crème Frappuccino
  • White Chocolate Crème Frappuccino
  • White Hot Chocolate
  • Royal English Breakfast Latte
  • Honey Almond Milk Flat White

This move is part of a larger strategy, with Starbucks aiming to reduce its U.S. menu by roughly 30% by the end of the fiscal year in September. Additional food and beverage items will be phased out in the coming months.

At the same time, Starbucks is introducing new drinks that it believes align with customer trends, including the recently launched Cortado. The company’s upcoming spring menu will feature returning lavender-flavored beverages, as well as new offerings like the Iced Cherry Chai and Jalapeño Chicken Pocket.
