Washington’s highest court is hearing an animal cruelty case involving a Sequim game farm.

The lawsuit brought by the Animal Legal Defense Fund accuses the Olympic Game Farm of keeping animals — including gray wolves, grizzly bears, lions and tigers — in “substandard, cramped conditions in violation of the Endangered Species Act and state cruelty laws.”

The Washington Supreme Court will determine whether a violation of Washington’s wildlife laws, animal cruelty laws, and/or the Endangered Species Act can be the basis of a public nuisance claim.

If the court affirms this, it would have the authority to shut down an operation that continues to violate those laws.

KIRO 7 reached out to Olympic Game Farm for comment but has not yet heard back.
