Traffic is still able to get onto SB I-405. WSDOT urges drivers to expect delays and use caution as crews will be underneath the Lind Ave. overpass.
A backhoe does not require a permit for transfer and is not considered oversized. The truck driver’s boom which struck the overpass had a vertical clearance of about 17ft.
WSDOT crews continue to inspect the overpass as of 1 p.m. Monday to ensure that concrete is not at risk of falling onto I-405. WSP does not anticipate a full closure of I-405, according to Rick Johnson, spokesperson for WSP.
