A DUI suspect is in police custody after leaving the scene of a fiery crash in north Lynnwood.

Just after 6:00 a.m. Sunday, someone called 911 reporting a crash.

Deputies arrived to the scene just north of Lake Stickney, about a half mile south of 128th S.W., and found a black sedan fully engulfed in flames.

No one was inside.

Investigators believe the person behind the wheel was driving at a high rate of speed on N. Lake Stickney Dr. and lost control.

The sedan veered off the roadway and slammed into two parked cars in the driveway of a private home.

Deputies say the sedan then flipped upside down, burst into flames, and came to rest in the yard of a nearby home.

Somehow the driver made it out and ran away from the crashed vehicle.

Two other vehicles parked in a driveway were damaged when the driver careened off the roadway and hit them. (Photo: Snohomish Co. Sheriff's Office)

It’s not clear whether the person suffered any injuries.

Later, deputies found the driver, took them into custody, and booked them into the Snohomish County Jail.

The driver is facing DUI and other possible charges.
