Pierce County deputies are searching for the driver of an SUV who nearly drove over three children at a school bus stop in Graham Friday morning.

The near miss was caught on the bus’ security video.

Three elementary school students were just about to step onto the bus, when an SUV sped between them and the bus &#8212 driving on the shoulder &#8212 and missing the children by inches.

No children were hurt.

Five-year-old Charity was approaching the bus when she felt the SUV brush against her foot.

“I felt the wind,” Charity told KING 5.

Brandy Wheeler, the mother of one of the students, saw the SUV sped up onto the shoulder and nearly hit the children.

“Those are our kids, you stop, stop!” Wheeler said.

“And I probably said a few things I shouldn’t’ have said,” she said. “And thank goodness the children couldn’t hear. But I was very scared and I knew they weren’t stopping.”

The vehicle is a white, GMC Jimmy with a sunroof and tinted windows, KING 5 reported. Witnesses told the TV news station that they think it is an early 2000s model with after market rims.

Anyone who knows information about the vehicle should call the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department. The Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to the driver of the SUV.
