Police think a man who robbed a Tacoma KeyBank last week disguised as a woman in a wig and dress may be the same robber who also hit another branch in a different disguise two days later.

The first robbery happened at 3:40 p.m. July 31 at the KeyBank in the 1400 block of East 72nd Street. The robber wore a long blue dress, light brown wig, and large sunglasses.

Then last Friday, a robber wearing a bike helmet and sunglasses with long blonde hair and possibly another wig stuck up the KeyBank in the 3500 block of South 19th Street.

The man entered the bank and showed the teller a note demanding cash. The suspect took the money and walked out, according to police.

Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and charges against the robber. He’s described as a white man in his late 40s, 5-foot-10 to 6 foot tall, with bad teeth and a wrinkled complexion.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call Tacoma-Pierce Crime Stoppers at 253-591-5959.
