A pair of historic urns in the Olympia area have been stolen.
The large bronze urns were stolen from the graves of Leopold and Peter Schmidt over the weekend. The father and son team bought and took over what become the Olympia Brewery.
The urns were on the family property next to the abandoned brewery in Tumwater. A caretaker tells The Olympian that copper thieves are likely to blame.
He said the property has been broken into several times as thieves look for anything of value left after the brewery closed. The bronze plaques and ashes have been removed in case the thieves come back.
Police say the old brewery has become a magnet for break ins since it closed in 2003.
