Threat prompts closure of Meadowdale High School in Lynnwood

Apr 13, 2012, 6:29 AM | Updated: 3:11 pm

School officials closed Meadowdale High School in Lynnwood
Friday for a threat about a shooting posted anonymously on
a
blog.

Lynnwood police officer Shannon Sessions says there were
several tips from across the U.S. that followed the first
tip.

Edmonds School District spokeswoman D.J. Jakala says
police contacted school leaders Thursday night.

“We received a credible report from the Lynnwood
Police Department that prompted us to decide that we
should
close school today for the safety of staff and students
while Lynnwood police have time to further investigate
this
report,” said Jakala.

Jakala says students and parents were notified of
the closure early Friday morning by voicemail.

Jakala does not know the status of school on
Monday.

No suspects have yet been identified.
