Threats made on social media Tuesday night prompted school officials to close Inglemoor High School in Kenmore Wednesday.

The threat, posted on Instagram, said no one should attend school on Wednesday because the person who posted it was “done with life” and was going to “waste everyone,” according to KIRO 7.

Officials with the Northshore School District said the closure is precautionary.

Inglemoor High School’s last day is Friday. The school district posted a message on its website that states the high school will be open on Thursday, June 16. There will be added police and security when the school reopens.

Below is a message from the school district:

Inglemoor High School is closed today, Wednesday, June 15, as a precautionary measure due to a message posted on social media threatening the school. Police are investigating. Transportation is working with Inglemoor to get any students who were already picked up transported home. Junior high students who take morning classes at IHS will be transported to their home school. We will provide additional information to staff and families this afternoon regarding the police investigation and plans for school tomorrow. Safety is our top priority and we encourage anyone who has information regarding this incident to contact Kenmore Police at (206) 296-3311.
