Three arrested in fatal fight in Auburn

Nov 20, 2012, 11:10 AM | Updated: 12:12 pm

Three people are under arrest after a gun and knife fight at a north Auburn apartment complex that left one man dead.

Police commander Mike Hirman says 9 or 10 people were inside an apartment at 2022 ‘I’ Street when some in the group tried to leave at about 8:30 Monday night. Gunfire erupted in the hallway.

“One individual was fatally shot, another individual was shot and stabbed, and a third victim was stabbed with a knife on her arm,” said Hirman.

A 25-year-old man was pronounced dead. Another 25-year-old man and a woman in her 30s were transported to Harborview Medical Center.

Hirman says there were two groups of people involved, possibly gang-connected.

“Whether it’s by rival gangs, we don’t really think so, but we know that some of our suspects are associated with gangs,” Hirman said.

The arrests were made Monday night and early Tuesday morning with the final suspect picked up a few hours later.
