Toddler dies after falling into septic well near Burlington

A 2-year-old boy reportedly died after he fell down a septic well near Burlington Monday morning.

The Skagit Valley Herald reports the boy wandered off while his visiting family was greeting another in the 20,000 block of Sanchez Lane.

The Herald reports deputies were called about 10 minutes after the boy was noticed missing. They found a covered septic well, but the caretaker noticed the well was uncovered it and had re-covered it.

Resuscitation efforts were made, but the boy was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
