The U.S. border czar, Tom Homan, visited Seattle and Tacoma this week to meet with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers.

Homan announced his quiet visit in a social media post Thursday. In his post, Homan stated, “Sanctuary cities are only sanctuaries for criminals.”

Homan met with ICE and CBP days after U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi threatened to prosecute Washington Governor Bob Ferguson over his sanctuary policies.

Ferguson responded to Bondi’s threats this week, claiming that Washington’s sanctuary city policies are legal.

“I am not intimidated by Pam Bondi or the president,” Ferguson said. “Washington State will not be bullied or intimidated by threats or legally baseless accusations.”

In Homan’s post, he condemned actions that aid and abet illegal immigrants within the country, noting that he will abide by the law “with honor and without apology.”

“Efforts to impede immigration enforcement operations and protect public safety threats are beyond shameful,” Homan said. “They are abhorrent and make no sense.”

Homan continued to explain that all acts of violence, including assault, intimidation, or interference with law enforcement personnel, will be arrested and prosecuted.

“You cross that line, and you will be arrested and prosecuted under the Trump Administration,” Homan said. “We have already seen a record number of prosecutions.”

The border czar previewed his visit to the Pacific Northwest on “The Jason Rantz Show” on Seattle Red 770 AM, indicating that he will visit Portland in the near future. Homan also spoke about the Trump administration’s concerted efforts to protect Americans and their families through a secure border.

“The president has your back. Secretary’s got your back. I’ve got your back,” Homan told Jason Rantz. “We’ll send whatever resources we need to send here to number one, do the job that the president wants you to do, and I want you to do, and give you enough resources out here to protect you and your families.”
