Troopers catch three DUI suspects in one intersection in two hours

May 13, 2013, 1:04 PM | Updated: 1:59 pm

Troopers in Kitsap County were busy early Saturday morning with three DUI suspects in two hours in one intersection.

It all started around 2:00 am when a trooper tried to stop a 2002 Acura cruising along Bucklin Hill Road at 75 mph. A pursuit ended at the intersection of NW Fairgrounds Rd and Central Valley with the suspect vehicle crashing into a dirt embankment.

The 25-year-old man was arrested for Felony Eluding and DUI.

Less than an hour later, a 2004 Infinity sped past the scene, almost hitting the troopers. They arrested a 24-year-old woman for DUI and Reckless Driving.

About 50 minutes later, troopers still investigating the first collision, witnessed a 1989 Nissan truck hit a 1995 Toyota Camry and flee the scene. After a short pursuit, the truck’s damaged hood flew up and blocked the driver’s vision. The 24 year old man crashed his truck into a ditch where troopers arrested him for DUI and Felony Hit and Run. He was again trying to flee the scene.

The man was booked into the Kitsap County Jail on $50,000 bail. His blood alcohol was over twice the legal limit.

The driver of the Camry, a 62 year old woman, was taken to Harrison Hospital for her injuries.

Both drivers in the earlier incidents were also booked into Kitsap County Jail.
