Troopers searching for suspect after 74-year-old woman carjacked in Kent

KENT, Wash. — The Washington State Patrol is searching for a suspected carjacker who stole a 74-year-old woman’s car after he caused a four-car collision in Kent on Saturday.
The incident occurred at about 8:15 p.m. on northbound Interstate 5 near 288th Street.
The suspect was traveling in a white passenger car, which was reported stolen out of Lakewood, when he struck a vehicle in the HOV lane and lost control.
He then veered across all lanes, causing a collision involving four vehicles, including a 2002 Subaru Legacy.
The suspect then exited his vehicle and approached the Subaru.

The 74-year-old woman who was driving that car unlocked her door because she thought he was coming to help her.
Instead, he pulled the woman out of her car and pushed her toward traffic before leaving the scene in her vehicle.
The vehicle involved in this incident was later found abandoned in Federal Way on Sunday afternoon, according to WSP.
