Tukwila police officers rescue man trapped underneath car

A man was taken to the hospital after he was trapped beneath a car early Thursday morning.

Around 4 a.m., Tukwila police responded to a vehicle that went off the road along Interurban Ave. S.

Officers found the car with a man pinned underneath. They were able to lift the car and rescue the victim.

After interviewing another person at the scene, police revealed the cause of the accident in a post on Facebook.

“It was determined that the vehicle had broken down and the pair were attempting to push it up the hill of an apartment complex,” the post stated. “Gravity began doing its thing, and the victim was unable to get clear in time before the vehicle ultimately knocked him down and trapped him beneath it in the bushes.”

Puget Sound Fire provided aid to the man until an ambulance took him to the hospital.
