Seattle’s Tully’s Coffee is filing for bankruptcy protection.
In a statement, Tully’s announced it also plans to close several stores that are not making money, including locations in Wallingford, Madison Park, and the Columbia Tower plus Redmond and Kirkland stores.
Store closures will happen as soon as Sunday, Oct. 14.
Other locations will remain open and Tully’s says it hopes to emerge from bankruptcy in 2013.
Chapter Eleven bankruptcy shields Tully’s from debtors while allowing the 20-year-old company to reorganize.
