Two arrested after holding man at gunpoint in North Seattle home

Two men are in custody after breaking into a North Seattle home and holding a man at gunpoint.

The man called 911 early Friday morning and whispered to a dispatcher that two gunmen had burst into his home in the Broadview neighborhood in the 12500 block of 7th Ave NW and held him at gunpoint. He said he was able to escape after a friend — who was also in the house — used a Taser on one suspect.

The caller ran and hid under the porch of a nearby home and called 911, said Det. Renee Witt.

Officers arrived, quickly arrested two suspects in the yard of the victim’s home and called robbery detectives to investigate.

“It does not appear anyone was injured,” Witt said.

Police initially took a third man into custody at the scene, but he is not believed to be a suspect and was released.

“The investigation remains very convoluted, and detectives are trying to sort out whether this was a robbery attempt or some other type of confrontation,” she said.
