Witnesses say two groups of people were arguing just before three people were shot in Seattle on Thursday morning.

The shooting occurred in the Belltown neighborhood around 12:15 a.m. near Fifth Avenue and Battery Street.

A man and a woman in their mid-20s were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third victim, a man also in his mid-20s, was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious injuries.

Witnesses said that the suspects took off running. Seattle police say detectives are trying to develop a suspect description.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call the Seattle Police Department’s tipline at 206-233-5000.

Investigators had cleared the shooting scene and reopened roads by 6 a.m.
