Two armed intruders are dead and after a homeowner shot them while they tried to rip off his illegal marijuana grow operation. And now he faces troubles of his own.
It happened early Thursday morning in the Summit area of Pierce County on the 5900 block of 132nd Street East.
Detective Ed Troyer says the homeowner’s 9-year-old son was also home when the intruders burst in and shots were exchanged.
Deputies found two masked, armed men dead on the floor of a large garage.
Troyer says deputies were serving search warrants after discovering what he calls a “large-scale operation.”
“This is well beyond anything that could be considered anything even remotely close to any type of medical marijuana situation. This is an illegal, cultivating marijuana grow.”
Troyer says the homeowner will likely faces charges.
