Two shootings and two fires in MyNorthwest overnight crime report

MyNorthwest reports on overnight crime in the Puget Sound region on the morning of June 23: Two injured in a Roxhill shooting, a man dead in a home in Des Moines, Two fires across Seattle

Shooting in Roxhill

In Roxhill, police responded to reports of a shooting at 12:41 a.m. at the intersection of 27th Avenue SW and SW Roxbury Street.

At the scene, police found a 35-year-old woman with multiple gunshot wounds, and began administering first aid before Seattle Fire Department medics rushed the woman to Harborview Medical Center.

Investigators determined that the shooting happened a block away at 9400 27th SW Ave. near Roxhill Park; a King County Sheriff’s deputy apprehended a man with a gun who stated he was present at the shooting.

A second gunshot victim arrived at Harborview in a private vehicle shortly after, police are still investigating whether the second victim was involved in the same incident.

Man found dead in home

In Des Moines, a man was found dead inside a home with gunshot wounds near South 208th Street.

A man has been arrested in connection with that case and there is no ongoing threat to the community says Des Moines Police. Police are still investigating how the two men are connected.

South 208th Street between 6th and 7th Avenue is expected to remain closed for several hours this morning due to the incident.

Two fires destroy homes and business

There were two significant fires that happened overnight.

The first fire destroyed two houses on 241st Street SW in Mont Lake Terrace just before midnight.

Six people were displaced by the fire.

It is still unknown what caused the fire at this time.

Firefighters were also called to a garage on 88th Avenue NE in Kenmore at 3:25 a.m.

North Shore Fire says the damage was minimal and there were no injuries, and no cause has been reported.
