Two trees fall onto power lines, blocking SR 202

Heavy rain continues to cause serious problems in east King County.
On Sunday afternoon, the rain-saturated soil underneath two huge trees gave way, sending the giant evergreens crashing down onto State Route 202.
This happened just west of Snoqualmie Falls, blocking traffic near 372nd Ave. S.E.
That’s between the Snoqualmie Falls Lodge and Fall City.

The two towering trees fell down right onto power lines, knocking them into the ditch next to the highway.
Crews spent the afternoon clearing the trees trunks from the road and dealing with downed electrical wires.

There was no detour in place, so drivers had to either wait it out or try to turn around.
