Video: Paratrooper takes on would-be burglar outside Seattle home

Today’s tip to would be burglars: don’t try and break into a paratrooper’s home if you value your face.

A guy dubbed a “creeper” by a homeowner, who just happens to a veteran of the 82nd Airborne, learned the lesson the hard way when he tried breaking into the soldier’s Seattle home twice in the last week.

The thief got a healthy beating after Andrew Myers spotted him on surveillance video trying to break into his Licton Springs area home Saturday night and confronted him at the front door.

Myers posted the encounter on YouTube.

In a recap of what happened, Myers says the guy first broke in on Veterans Day and actually slept in his basement, but didn’t take anything.

Myers subsequently upgraded his security equipment to alert him to movement on the fence line. Sure enough, the guy came back. And Myers was ready.

“Once I told him he wasn’t coming in and wasn’t leaving till he talked to the police, he struggled to get away and tried to pull off a huge haymaker on the porch,” he writes. “He ate an uppercut for his troubles,(off camera) and he was just about “out” on the porch already but I realized I wanted anything that happened to be on camera so I drug him down the stairs. The rest can be seen on camera.”

What you see in the video Myers set to music is the paratrooper giving the guy a face-full of Myers’ fist for his troubles. He then holds the guy down while his girlfriend calls Seattle police.

The cops respond quickly and arrest the guy, while Myers throws his hands up in disbelief at the camera.

Myers says he’s not usually a big fan of police, but had nothing but praise for the quick response.

“The police report states: “assailant attempted an assault to break free. He lost,” he writes.
