Instead of writing a ticket to the driver of a speeding car, Seattle police congratulated him.

Police pulled over the vehicle rushing down Martin Luther King Jr. Way South on Sunday morning, only to find the driver’s wife giving birth in the passenger seat.

The driver jumped out of the car, shouting that his wife was in labor.

Though police immediately called for an ambulance, the child beat medics to the scene. Officers helped deliver the child, which was born not long after the traffic stop.

After giving an initial cry, the baby was eerily silent. However, with the help of the mother and Officer Reynolds, the child’s airway was cleared and began to breath again.

The mother and child were transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
