A fatal motorcycle crash occurred early Tuesday morning along the West Seattle Bridge, the Seattle Police Department (SPD) confirmed.

The crash happened on the 1st Avenue S. off-ramp from the West Seattle Bridge just before 2 a.m. According to the Seattle Fire Department (SFD), the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

SPD detectives determined that the motorcyclist struck a guardrail while taking the off-ramp and flew over the railing, landing below on the 1st Avenue S. sidewalk.

“Police cordoned off the area, and detectives with the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) arrived to process the scene,” SPD stated.

Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to call TCIS at (206) 684-8923.
