Police are asking for help in the search for a missing West Seattle man.

Richard Arneson, 62, was reported missing when he failed to show up for work Feb. 5.

A friend went to Arneson’s apartment and found the back door open. Police checked his home but didn’t find any indication of foul play.

Later that day, however, a friend of Arneson reported a text message she received from Arneson that read, “my luck has run out.”

Detective Patrick Michaud says Arneson is known to hit the walking trails in West Seattle and Rainier Valley frequently.

They’re asking anyone who may have seen Arneson to call 911.
