Award-winning journalists Linda Thomas and Dave Ross are the new hosts of Seattle's Morning News.

A lot of KIRO Radio listeners have called and written lately about what they want out of the station. And the message is clear. While you love KIRO Radio’s talk shows later in the day, you want more news first thing in the morning to get you up and going to work on time and in the know. “Okay, message heard and point taken,” says Carl Gardner, General Manager for KIRO Radio.

So the station is doubling up its news offerings in the morning, with the newly launched Seattle’s Morning News.

“Starting right now KIRO Radio is all about the news in early mornings, delivered by two of the Northwest’s best informed and most reliable newscasters Dave Ross and Linda Thomas,” Gardner says.

From 5-9 a.m. every weekday, Dave and Linda will bring you all the latest news you need to know along with extra depth and insight on the most important stories plus traffic and weather together every 10 minutes on the 7’s.

“More stories, more interesting, more informative than ever,” Gardner says of the increased emphasis on news in the mornings.

Despite the changes, former Seattle’s Morning News host John Curley is still in the KIRO Radio family “and we’re working with him to find the best possible platform for his talent,” says Larry Gifford, KIRO Radio Program Director.

Ross will continue to co-host the Ross and Burbank Show through 10 a.m., when Luke Burbank goes solo from 10-noon with contributors including award-winning film critic and commentator Tom Tangney. Award-winning journalist Ursula Reutin returns to the Dori Monson Show as news anchor and will continue to report and host KIRO Radio In Depth Saturday mornings at 6 a.m.
