Body found near White Center Pond after firefighters respond to illegal burn

A dead body was found near the White Center Pond Natural Area on Monday after authorities responded to reports of an illegal burn.
Firefighters responded to the illegal burn located between 13th Avenue SW and 12th Avenue SW, and what authorities said appeared to be “some sort of encampment,” the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) confirmed.
Once the fire was put out, crews noticed that a dead person was nearby.
The case has turned into a Major Crimes death investigation.
No arrests have been made.
