Rain moves in
Western Washington can expect more rain. A Flood Watch is in effect until Saturday morning in Clallam, Jefferson, Grays Harbor, Mason, Skagit, and Whatcom counties.
On the Olympic Peninsula, the NWS has measured 4.78 inches of rain at La Push in the past 24 hours. Ocean Shores received 1.40 inches of rain and Port Angeles, located in the rain shadow, got 0.18 inches of rain.
Mountain snow
Precipitation should translate into snow for the Cascades overnight. Another six to 12 inches of snow is expected at elevations above 3,500 feet in the Cascades of King, Snohomish, Pierce, and Lewis counties. About 12 to 18 inches of snow is expected at 3,500 feet in the north Cascades around Mount Baker.
Washington beaches
High Surf conditions are expected to last through Friday on the Washington coast. Waves are expected to be 20-22 feet high. The National Weather Service says this creates dangerous beach conditions along the entire coast.
