Bumbershoot this weekend!

At first glance I was not impressed with the Bumbershoot line-up whatsoever. Sure, big name headliners like Ray LaMontagne & the Pariah Dogs, The Presidents of the United States of America, Wiz Khalifa, Broken Social Scene, Big Boi and the always amazing Hall & Oates will be around for my entertainment which is all fine and good, but I wasn’t completely blown away. Then you have all the other bands. Some I knew, most I didn’t, and I was like ‘eh’. However, upon closer inspection and after spending some time listening to artists that I had no idea who they were, I became more involved and interested with the whole Bumbershoot thing. There are some definite gems that stand out above the rest that aren’t necessarily known by the masses that you and I need to see, namely Toro Y Moi, Warpaint, Shabazz Palaces, Com Truise, Quadron, Free the Robots and Dom, to name just a handful. Add these folks to the many other bands that will be shining bright this weekend and you have yourself a good ‘ol time coming to you.
